About

After the Fire is a space for reflection—on life, love, loss, change, and the quiet reckonings that shape who we are. It’s part journal, part poetry collection, part ongoing conversation.

I’m a writer, an amateur poet, and an aspiring novelist. This blog began as a way to give voice to the questions and memories that stay with me—those moments we replay in the quiet, wondering how we might have lived them differently… or what they’ve taught us.

Each post begins with a poem, a fragment, or a memory—something true. Then comes the conversation: a reflection on where it came from, what it means now, and how we’re all just trying to become.

This is an evolving project. Over time, you’ll find:

  • Short poems that ask more than they answer
  • Reflections on love, loss, addiction, career shifts, aging, and identity
  • A serialized short story told in weekly installments
  • Honest, vulnerable writing about the “in-between” places in life

Whether you’re here for a single post or the whole journey—welcome. I hope something here speaks to you.

The Breakup Bordello is a surreal, serialized story about reckoning, heartbreak and the unexpected places we go to try and feel whole again. It’s told in biweekly installments, and it follows one man’s descent into something stranger—and possibly more honest—than he bargained for.
